She decides to spend the last year of her life taking care of her bio-engineered goldfish, Gigantus Rex, while writing a fantasy novel about snail people trying to escape from a time loop. After a year passes, she dies like a dog, with a blade jutting out of her chest, glad to have served her purpose.
