This is not the universe where they won against Thanos. Sitting in the ruins of their battlefield, knowing everything he swore to protect, his universe was coming to an end, Stephen makes a choice.
Sacrificing his body for a spell, he takes the only souls he knows can orchestrate a victory back in time. A spell created by his own hands, fueled with his sacrifice, he catapults himself and Tony Stark back to the moments of their birth.
With their reality at stake, they need to create a chance for their time-line to win. After all, their universe wasn't the one that won.

One thing that bothers me is that while I can ignore the grammar and spelling errors, sometimes it feels like a few words or a sentence is missing and I'm not sure if it's really the case or just the grammar/spelling mistake leading me to read things not as they're meant to be, thereby confusing me

He was terrified and unsettled because he didn't have his father's abuse to ground him.And what a fucked up way to measure his mental stability by. No big deal, he'd just scared himself shit less. He might have erased the point in time that made his father decide to abuse his family. The butterfly effect was suddenly much more real than it had been and he was petrified.
-Less shitty childhoods for both, though I don't fully understand how Tony stopping that one occasion made it so Howard would not be abusive. For Stephen tho things better with his knowledge and skills. Fuck you Mordo for screwing over a child for your jealousy

"You are...something else Stephen Strange." Tony breathed in wonder.
"Thank you. I figured you would find watching the falling of a god more interesting than SHIELD crawling all over the property." Stephen grinned unrepentant. "And when we're done I'll take you home and ruin you before your meeting. Which...I am still vehemently opposed to."
"Your objection is noted." Tony rolled his eyes but patteh Stephen's knee. "And ignored, for now."

“Have you ever been in love?” Steve flinched ever so slightly when he realised he’d been caught watching the other man from the balcony door. He paused before stepping out, closing the door behind him as he walked over to stand next to where Tony was leaning against the balcony railing. He turned so his back was to the city and he could watch the party going on inside.
“Yea, once.” Tony hummed in reply but didn’t speak otherwise so Steve continued. “Have you?” Tony remained silent and Steve let him take his time to decide what to answer.
“Yea, I have.” When it became clear that he wasn’t going to keep going without being prompted Steve pressed.
“What was she like?” When Tony didn’t reply immediately he looked away from the party to look at Tony and when he did he felt all the air leave his lungs. The look on Tony's face was one he recognised all too well. “Tony?” He blinked and seemed to come back to himself ever so slightly.
Or: Tony and Steve bond over having lost people they love

Tony Stark is Iron man, he is a billionaire, he is a philantrophist, he is a playboy and he is a certified genius. Everyone knows who he is. He has spent his whole life in the limelight and the world thinks they know every thing about him.
As it happens Tony Stark and Agent Zero are the same person
