Rin is several steps lower when Haruka calls out again. “Rin.”
Wine-rich hair flies in the night as the other boy whips around. “Yeah?”
“Show me something worthwhile next time.”
Shark teeth glint in the dark, lips pulling up into a razor-edged smile rivalling the milky expanse of galaxies painted above. “As much as I’d like to promise that again, ‘fraid you’ll be too busy eating my bubbles to see much of anything, Nanase.”

Briefly, Rin thought his dad was just playing a prank on him. But when he looked back at him, and then at the glass he froze.
On the other side of the glass, a set of webbed fingertips matched the motion of his own. It took him a moment to understand what he was looking at. But when it hit him, it hit like nothing before.
The figure was pale against the gloomy water. Jet black hair curled around its face. Its skin was pale, almost white. There were brilliant jades and aquas glinting in patches on its skin. And just below the waist–
