She wants to ask why he saves the roaches in their apartment instead of killing them, and why it’s a habit that she’s picked up on, too. She wants to ask about the nightmares. She wants to ask why he makes clicking noises when the power goes out. She wants to ask why he looks up at the night sky, at the bats that fly in front of the moon. She wants to ask about the scars that mark his skin, scars that have been there for as long as she can remember, as if by destiny.
