Summary
Charles almost died in the fire that killed his stepfather, wishes he had because of what was done to him. It was bad enough thinking he was going crazy until he realized he was reading minds but then Kurt hurt him and Raven couldn't protect him. He rose from the ashes though, moved to London and had his daughter, she was the only good thing that came from all of that. Then he meets Erik and he knows that he is falling in love but can he fall in love, protect his daughter and save mutant kind?

Revised version of “Unsure Future”. Logan knew going back to change the future could potentially mean Charles and him never get together, that didn't mean he wasn't going to hope for the best even if it means contending with a young version of Magneto who is an even bigger pain then the one he knows and a drugged and lost version of the man he loves. “What happened there, Sugar?” Emma asked and Charles followed her line of sight. And it would appear he wasn’t the only one because all the rest seemed to take a step closer as Erik looked down at his side and stomach. There was a large blue and purple bruise there, starting around halfway down his ribs, wrapping down around his abdomen, and reaching down his hip, disappearing under his boxer briefs.
“Oh, um,” Erik said, a little uncertain, “I was doing some work on one of the houses on the island a few days ago and there was a bit of an incident where I fell off the roof, and I-“
Charles was tired of the story, “No one is going to believe that, Erik."
