Oh, Izuku still wanted to help people, to save them, to make them feel safe. His patrols around the underserved neighborhoods of Musutafu definitely helped. But that wasn't his primary cause.

Izuku's image of heroes is shattered. He's disillusioned. But instead of getting bitter, he's just...tired.
He'd just like to stop thinking about it. Maybe it's better, to lock himself away where he is safe from the biting teeth of the outside world.There's a strange boy he keeps meeting on rooftops.
Izuku thinks that they should really stop meeting like this.
(Even after all this, Izuku handles people kindly, careful hands cradling their potential between his palms. His touch is soft where no one else's is.)
