Mettaton was glad to have the body and life that he had now, though he held some regrets on how he went about getting there. He’d managed to change some of his less favorable ways and make right on them over time, but there was one thing he hadn’t been able to fix yet, and it was perhaps his greatest regret of them all. And every once in awhile, he found himself really struggling with it.
From his view into the Light World, it didn’t take long for Tenna to recognize that he was having a hard time with a different version of a pain he knew too well from experience.
Rather than playing the typical salacious music videos they liked to share to unwind at the end of a long day, Tenna adjusted plans accordingly to show Mettaton something that felt more appropriate. He wished he could do more, but he would do everything he could for his devoted viewer.

An aside from a referenced past moment in “Maintenance In The Right Measure” in which Mettaton has a vulnerable bonding moment with Tenna while watching music videos for sad songs, and it becomes a healing experience for both of them.

Hyunjin paused, his hand already reaching for his pack. “What?”
“Pretend to be my boyfriend for a few months.”
Hyunjin froze. His hand, mid-air, dropped slowly. He stared at the unmoving figure, trying to process the words. Was this some kind of joke? A pick-up line, perhaps? But the man’s tone was devoid of humor, utterly serious. He continued to take slow, deliberate drags from his cigarette, the tip glowing like a tiny, malevolent eye.
“What the—, are you serious? Only for a lighter??” Hyunjin finally blurted out, a bewildered laugh bubbling up. He was about to crack up, but this guy seemed dead earnest.

¨I thought one day I´d wake up, and life would make sense. That…,¨ Jason trails off, eyes far away, longing, ¨I would get an explanation of some sort. But, that´s childish; entitled. I don´t deserve one.¨
¨It´s not childish,¨ Eugene placates.
Jason huffs, smoke escaping his nostrils. ¨That´s not what I meant.¨
¨What did you mean?¨ Eugene asks. Meanwhile, Jason stubs out the cigarette. Peering up, he smiles a genuine smile, one of relief.
