Summary
Weeks of flat shopping with their limited budget with Louis as a librarian aid and Harry as a barista and arguments about whether a balcony or extended bathroom suite were more important (Harry wanted to be able to feel the crisp night’s air and watch the sun set and Louis just wanted to take long bubble baths) led to them stumbling across the perfect fit. A small flat only ten minutes from campus with a cramped but lovely balcony and an included bath.
It’s affordable too… well, sort of. But they always manage. Louis picks up more shifts as an aid, adapting a habit of bringing his Psych textbooks and homework with him to finish in between duties, and later his script so he can quietly practice lines with little distraction.
Harry also increases his number of shifts at the cafe and valiantly endures the nasty customers who for some reason flock to their establishment like moths to a flame.
For a while, it’s enough.

Summary
His first driving lesson with Louis takes place on a Saturday.
Harry stumbles out through the front gate in thrown-on baggy jeans and his ratty Ramones shirt, sees Louis leaning casually against the car, and his knees nearly give out. Apparently "not another surly teacher" meant a drop dead gorgeous twenty-something scruffy guy with shaggy brown hair and cheekbones sharp enough to chop a salad with. Clearly, Robin's trying to get Harry killed at seventeen.
Or, the AU where Louis is a 25-year-old driving instructor and Harry is a 17-year-old virgin who's really awful at seduction, except for the time he gets Louis to fall for him and fuck him senseless and take him on kinky adventures.

Louis pauses again, his eyebrows scrunching together only slightly. "No actually, I don't really know what you're saying." Harry is avoiding eye contact at all costs.
"I mean — what if you just practiced all that stuff with someone you're comfortable with. I don't know." Harry shrugs, averting his gaze to the chocolate stain on his grey t-shirt.
"Harry, are you suggesting I go out and find a stranger to hook up with?" Louis quirks up an eyebrow.
Harry sighs. "I mean me, Lou. What if you practiced all that stuff with me?"
