Comment on Fairytale of Metropolis

  1. Lex said wearable blanket and my mind went back to the 2000s at 3am when those Snuggie commercials were EVERYWHERE. I had the blue one……

The way she made it a point in her Christmas chaos to include his traditions but he didn’t have any except feuding with his dad. I’ve said it before, but Lex needs a hug 🥺

The way I cackle at the childhood bedroom part. Lex was so scandalized of the judging carebead—btw, it’s Good Luck Bear, lex, don’t be rude!

As much as I’m so looking forward to the spice, I love to see the deeper intimacy of Lex encouraging her to open up about sex and easing embarrassment. He really is good at the boyfriend thing.

I also love that this was from Lex’s pov!

    1. Well, actually he gets her an Oodie, but they didn't exist back in 2005, and... he'd definitely seen those Snuggie commercials, too. God, I still have such an irrational hate for those... 😅

And yes - poor Lex. No Christmas traditions, just generational trauma and petty holiday feuds with his father. He’s like, “How do I even compete with peppermint hot chocolate and reindeer pajamas?” 🥲 Chris: challenge accepted.

Also, he was scandalized by Good Luck Bear. I had way too much fun writing this scene. I'd think that he'll wake up 20 years from now, still thinking about judgmental Good Luck Bear. I'm so giving him Grumpy Bear for next Christmas. Just for the lolz.

I’m really glad the intimacy landed for you. I wanted the spice to be earned, not just dropped in. And for all his brooding and control issues, Lex is very, very good at the emotional slow burn. Boyfriend excellence, 2005 edition™.

Thank you so much for this comment - it made me grin like an idiot. 🫶 💚
