HAhaha, I'm glad you enjoyed the Ghost City citizens! I had a lot of fun writing them all, and they were one of my favorite parts of the novel too!
The entire craftspeople ghost district hard core ships it--probably all of Ghost City does, but as the craftspeople would like to point out, THEY were the ones entrusted with this important first love token!
I just felt like if QYZ was given options on how to spend time with Shixiong, one of the first things he'd think of what that palanquin because like, he wanted to ride that thing SO BADLY. And it would be even better if Shixiong was with him!
