Comment on Green Rain font, from The Matrix

  1. This looks so cool! Thank you for your extensive write-up!

I think also AO3 supports CSS animations (at least from a cursory read of the properties listed at https://www.ao3.icu/help/skins-creating.htm). I wonder if it's possible to loop-animate the styles to make a moving version.

    1. Thanks, gifbot!  I think that there's probably better info in the fonts tutorial, but it was definitely way more fun to try an applied instance here. 🙂  (And for what it's worth, your execution of DOOM blew me away... and then I saw But can it run AO3? 😲.)

I tried https://www.ao3.icu/help/skins-creating.htm and https://www.ao3.icu/help just now, but no dice: the pages apparently don't exist now (nor on Wayback).  Still though, I'm sure that there's a way to do it without need of Java (or otherwise circumventing TOS in any way).  If only the background property on the .gif layer didn't make the text fade away in the regular reading layer.

      1. Oh, my copy-paste just missed the last letter, it's https://www.ao3.icu/help/skins-creating.html!

        1. D'oh!  I think that I need more caffeine: I even saw that there was no "l" and didn't think of adding it, some part at the back of my head filing it under the old .htm (no "l") system and assuming that AO3 would've redirected me automatically if that were the issue.  Well, live and learn, I guess (kinda like how capitalization once supposedly didn't matter in URLs or file paths, but certainly eventually did).
