          1. You don't appear to understand and there might be a language barrier. Just because you can comment on AO3 and can have a conversation with other fans if they respond, that doesn't make it a social media website. Its primary function is as a fannish archive as I've seen other users reiterate a billion times elsewhere. Its goal is not to facilitate discussion, which is what social media is primarily for, i.e. Twitter and Tumblr. You can write fiction on them, but that's not what they were initially designed for and I find reading fic on Tumblr an absolute pain in the ass. If you're still confused, I recommend checking out the AO3 subreddit; they're really good at explaining this kind of stuff.
