Wow, I thought my comment wasn’t permitted to be posted, I’m genuinely shocked to see it was and there’s a response. I understand AI can’t be detected in many cases and the rule wouldn’t be enforceable, but I guarantee you spam fics and comments will become a massive issue in the next few years/bigger of an issue. I do not understand the reasoning behind allowing AI work outright. I thought AO3 was for fans by fans, not for bots by fans. But oh well, I guess we’ll see what happens when bots - and I mean literal bots, not controlled by a human, start posting works en masse. Good to know a portion of donor money goes towards making the site available to those who steal fanworks and just paste generated code.
