    The thing is I use Ai to beta read even though my fic is orginal and I'm sure there are others like me. you would be creating as many problems as you solve.

      Same! The only AI I use is Grammarly to help pick up any grammatical errors (and I miss a lot because I’m dyslexic at 1am) that I might’ve missed during my proof reads. If there was a tool used to detect and ban AI, I’m worried to see it detecting AI use through grammar structure and banning fics that took months to write simply because of it.

      I’m all for outlawing the use of producing something with AI, however, spell checkers are useful to have, especially as a writer. With 250K words, I’m still trying to find and fix small errors and I wouldn’t have gotten this far without it. But I NEVER use AI to actually write something, not even when I’m deep in Writer’s Block!

      Well, I'm down to create another 10000000 problems as long as it gets rid of AI slop. But I guess I'll just have to not donate money anymore, as the OTW don't seem to want to do anything about it.

        Yeah, imo I feel like OTW will be fine with one person not donating money because they don't understand the incredibly simple logic (no reliable way to check for ai) behind OTW's decision on this

          Oh no doubt they will be fine! Did I ever say my decision to not donate would cause the site to collapse? What will cause the site to collapse is exactly what I said in my original post if you’d actually read it. Also, your tone is hilarious to me, as you somehow seem to genuinely believe there aren’t more people upset about this decision than me. One day the OTW will not reach their funding goal. Maybe it’s for this reason, maybe for another. You are absolutely out of your mind if you think the OTW has permanent support if they continue to make poor decisions. Is my logic simple enough for you?
