Marinette raises an eyebrow at her twin. “Akhi , he is six feet and four inches tall already. Any taller, and he would be a tree.”
Batman stays silent, choosing to glare? Stare? Do something that Marinette didn’t know because the white lenses hid his eyes and his facial expression doesn’t change.

When Marinette Dupain-Cheng wakes up on the day of her tenth birthday, she immediately runs for the nearest mirror.
Starting when they turn ten years old, everyone will see their soulmate in mirrors, puddles, or any reflective surface. The soulmate (or soulmates) could be either romantic or platonic, but you always saw your soulmate in the mirror, unless they were dead. Then you only saw yourself.
Marinette Dupain-Cheng was no exception to the ways of the world.

Summary
Marinette is a girl lost a hundred years in the future, looking everywhere for the world she once knew and finding that it has all changed. She is the last surviving airbender, the Avatar, though she wishes nothing more than to not have the weight of the world on her shoulders.
Damian is a disgraced Fire Nation Prince, who has spent the last three years searching, combing the world, for a way to return home. He thinks that the key to being able to apologize to his sister, the key to being welcomed back by his mother, is the Avatar.
Marinette is stuck in a time period before the war, a time that no longer exists outside of the minds of very few people. She does her best to adjust with the help of her newfound friends from the Water Tribe because she has to, because as much as she hates it, she’s the Avatar, and she is a symbol of hope.
To Damian, the Avatar is a beacon of hope. Capturing them would mean that his journey, his banishment, is over, that he can go back to his sister and they can put everything behind them, returning things to the way they once were.

She doesn’t want to look down and see it on her hands anymore. She doesn’t want to hear the screams of the dying, of the dead, mixed with her own shrieks inside her mind, always trapped, never a single sound to be let out.
She doesn’t want to leap over rooftops anymore, doesn’t want to feel the concrete underneath her feet as she silently runs over a dark city lit by bright lights.
No, that’s not right.
Talon enjoys climbing and jumping and running over the roofs, she just doesn’t want to do what always comes with the travel, she realizes.
Because every time she stands on top of a building to look down at the city from above, someone dies.
