Summary
Steadying Carapace with an arm around his shoulders, Viperion asks, laughter in his voice, "So... were we actually planning on getting ice cream for any of the rest of us, or is this whole stop for..." He gestures towards Chat, who barely looks up from his twelve-flavoured monstrosity.
Marinette has no idea why André hasn't just given up and started giving Chat a bowl.

"Dude, you know once we beat Hawkmoth you can go by whatever you want, right?" Nino finally offers, not entirely sure if it's the right thing to say. He can't keep saying nothing, though, because he's not gonna let his friend think he's being ignored. He never wants him to think that. "Like, you're a hero of Paris, man. You wanna go ahead and change, just, like, your whole name to Chat Noir, pretty sure they'll let you. Pretty sure they can't stop you, honestly."
Plagg's quiet little rumble takes on a note of approval.

Summary
Luka sees the shadows shift again.
It's dark down by their part of the Seine, but even with the broken streetlamps the darkness on the banks is far from absolute- and Luka has very good vision.
There's a darker patch curled up at the base of a tree down by the river's edge. When that patch shifts, Luka catches a faint glint of light off gold and an even fainter chiming sound.
Luka's been silently watching Chat Noir make himself comfortable for a while now. He's been worried for even longer.

"We did not think this through." Nino slumps against the bathroom wall, cradling his head in his hands. "We super, super did not think this through. Like. Dude."
Across from him, crouched at the edge of their bathtub, Marinette tries to glare and fails as her gaze keeps darting to the door. "I noticed! I noticed, Nino, and I blame you."
"I blame you, how could you not warn me he was gonna do this?" Nino's only vaguely aware of the edge of the counter digging into his hip.
"He's a model, of course he's gonna do this!" Marinette slumps, too, letting her head thunk back against the ceramic of the tub. "I don't know if he's ever even heard of body shyness. And Chat and I have had enough- look, I'm not surprised, it'll just take some adjusting. But you!" She points at him accusingly, though it loses its edge from her position on the floor. "You've lived with Alya already. You knew that they were gonna do this. You could have told me there were gonna be two of them."
(or, the team moves in together. the team swiftly learns they have differing opinions on how dressed is dressed enough while at home).

Summary
"It's not like Master Fu was real strict about following the Guardian rules himself, right? I'm pretty sure he never actually learned a lot of them." Ladybug's lips twitch. "Not that he'd admit it. But he left me in charge, now, and I don't want to do things the same as him just because that's how they're done." She draws herself up, reaching slowly out to rest her hands on his upper arms.
Adrien holds very still against the burning sensation of her hands on him when he'd been braced to find he'd never feel that again, holds still against the burning at the back of his eyes.
"I'm not leaving you out." Ladybug breathes, and at some point he'd begun to unconsciously match his breath to hers. "I'm still learning, but we can learn together. I get the impression from Wayzz that it's been a long time since anyone learned from the kwami directly, so I've been thinking we should start there, but I wanted to talk to you about it."
She pauses, breathes out when he does.
"I'm not- ready, yet, but. But we need to be able to include our own kwami in our discussions, too."
Adrien stops breathing.

Summary
Rose had had a family to run to. Anarka never really talks about it, because that's not really the kind of person Anarka is, but she'd welcomed Rose immediately and she'd never said a word about it when Rose stayed later and later and longer and longer and by the time Rose quit even pretending to go home she'd found that Anarka had already quietly gone to the school and changed her home address over to the Liberty.
Anarka never has actually said anything about it out loud, but Rose has a room here if she wants it (she always shares Juleka's but she has a room), and a seat at the table, and a stocking at Christmas that had just appeared and somehow matches the rest of the family's, and a place in all their family photos. She'd gone to live with- hide with- her girlfriend one day, and she'd been too scared to leave, and she'd found a brother and a mom too and by the time she stopped being scared she couldn't imagine leaving.
What does Adrien have?

"Kid, are you serious."
"Of course I'm serious," Adrien replies absently, reaching without looking to grab for the bag he must have left here earlier. Plagg has no idea when he'd done that. Plagg probably should know when he'd done that, but hell, raising the kid isn't his responsibility.
Isn't supposed to be his responsibility. Is anyway, but it sure isn't supposed to be.
No one should have given Plagg a kid. Plagg's barely ever been able to keep his adult chosen from doing stupid, stupid things. No one should have given him a kid.
No one had ever told Fu not to.

Summary
"Hey, if I admit that you were right about Lego Roulette, will you tell me where Chat Noir is?" Alix calls out as she swings open Kim's door, idly thinking about how it's still really annoying that Kim had not only named his cat pillow the same way she did but the same thing she did.
And then Alix freezes with her hand still on the doorknob, because the actual Chat Noir is looking up at her from the spare mattress, expression somewhere between confused and guilty.
Alix's brain unfreezes again pretty quick, considering this is not the weirdest thing she's caught Kim at by miles, and she blinks and takes in a lot more in the space it takes before anyone can react to her. The missing pillow's now curled protectively around its namesake, who's scrunched into the corner where he- or someone, anyway- must have dragged the mattress and the pile of sheets they like to consider bedding, and Chat's holding the chipped bowl they usually pass chips around in for movie nights, and Kim's hanging upside down off his bed to lazily mess with the fidget cube Ondine had thrown at him a week ago while Ondine messes with the settings on the ps4.
Alix blinks again.

Summary
The Gorilla stops just long enough to lean on the alley wall, trying to catch his breath and trying not to look back at what he's pretty sure is the swell of an earthquake or to listen to the rising screams.
He stops just in time to see Adrien, shoulders tensed at the sound of those screams, take a deep breath and straighten up before he transforms in a wash of green light.
Right.
So.
This kid probably doesn't need a bodyguard.

Summary
At first Luka doesn't realise that Adrien must have had the Snake Miraculous before him.
Luka knows that Adrien knows that he's Viperion, and that's a strange sort of relief, but it takes him too long to think about how Adrien had been the one to suggest him for it, or why Adrien had been there beside Ladybug before Luka had even arrived.
Or why Ladybug had thanked Adrien for saving her life 'so many times.'

Summary
Rose is the first.
Rose isn't going to be the last.
Anarka knows that from the start. She never even tries to convince herself otherwise.
She knows that even as she watches her daughter try on and discard a dozen different excuses for why Rose's sleepover has extended from two nights, to four, to a week, and still shows no signs of ending. Anarka knows that as she watches Juleka go to her brother for advice, and as Luka helps both girls clear out Juleka's trundle bed and find space for anything too important to throw away.
Rose is the first to stay, but she's not going to be the last.
(But Chat Noir is definitely a surprise).

Marinette's not even sure how they're supposed to grieve. If they're supposed to grieve.
Do you grieve for someone whose existence was counted in minutes?
And even if other people don't, do they?
(Because someone should. Someone has to. Minutes or days or years, she'd had a life, and that matters).

Summary
"Home sweet home," Adrien grumbles, detransforming as he slips through the apartment window.
He's pretty sure this apartment's been sold, now, and that means that he's going to have to find another place within the week. He'd like to find one sooner than that, but he's worn out enough from the four akuma today that he doesn't even want to muster the energy to look for some place new right now. There are roofs and alleys he can claim for a night or two until he has time to look, anyway.
Plagg's so tired that his grumbling doesn't manage words. He wanders over to the backpack they'd stashed in a corner, out of view of any windows, and phases into it instead of bothering to pull any of his cheese out.
(They'd run out of the last of their Camembert days ago, but Plagg got upset enough when Adrien kept apologising for only being able to get him cheddar that he's not going to bring it up again).

"Okay, I've never been so bored in my life. Someone, please, tell a joke or something." Alya lets their head thump back against the wall with a groan.
Stakeouts sounded a lot more fun on paper. Stakeouts sounded cool and mysterious and secret agent-y.
Stakeouts weren't supposed to be so incredibly dull.
Chat Noir rises to the challenge, though, green eyes gleaming in the dark. His tail swishes by his feet, barely brushing the rough tiles of their chosen rooftop, as he eagerly starts with, "There once was a man from Nantucket-"

Summary
She can't find Chat.
They were supposed to meet for patrol an hour ago.
Chat never misses a patrol, and he was supposed to meet her an hour ago, and Marinette can't find him anywhere.
So, she might be panicking a little. She might be panicking a lot more than she'd thought not being able to locate her partner would cause, especially since it's not like she usually knows where he is. Most of the time she has no idea where he is and it doesn't usually bother her. It's not something she usually even really thinks about very much.
But Chat Noir was supposed to meet her here an hour ago and he's still not here. There's no note, no Plagg, no message on her yo-yo. There's nothing to let her know where her missing partner might be, or why he isn't already here with her like he's supposed to be.
And-
And Marinette might be feeling a little clingier than usual, right now.

Summary
"It does help," Adrien admits, finally letting go of the bracelet and then bracing both hands firmly against the floor, pushing back further against the side of Luka's bed. "It's better than it was before."
Someone raps on the wall outside Luka's dividing curtain.
After a quick glance at Adrien that's met with a shrug, Luka calls, "Come in."
He sits back with a blink when it's Alix, of all people, that ducks inside.
"So! It took me forever to figure out when this was, you have no idea. What's up timesquad, where's my bracelet."

Summary
Alya's got a running list of their least favourite akuma.
Alya's gonna have to update their list again.
"Who's it!" Freeze Tag bellows from somewhere back behind them, because Freeze Tag apparently can't be bothered to remember the rules to his own stupid game.
Alya keeps running, barely slowing down as they hurdle over obstacles, registering the damage around them in a way they haven't done mid-battle in a long time now because there's no real point because Ladybug's Cure will set it back to rights before Alya's even transformed back.
But right now- right now, Ladybug's frozen, standing still as a statue somewhere way too far behind Alya.
But.
But Alya doesn't have Chat Noir, either.

Summary
There's a hand-painted sign outside Luka's room that says no girls allowed.
It takes a while for Adrien to be comfortable enough to ask about it.
It takes Rose rapping on it with her knuckles one day and Luka sighing deeply before he recites, "You don't count, Rose."
Rose ducks inside, grinning brightly.
Juleka joins them the next night, and she knocks on the sign too. Her notes are a different pattern, one that Adrien only half-remembers.
Luka's sigh isn't quite as deep. "Jules, you know you don't count."
Juleka brings journals and music with.
A week later, Adrien's sprawled across Luka's bed, reading one of Juleka's magazines while Rose's nail polish dries on his toenails, when a tapped-out pattern that doesn't match either Juleka or Rose drags him halfway back to awareness.
Half-asleep on the floor of his room, Luka drowsily calls back, "It doesn't mean you, Marinette, you don't count."
"Luka," Adrien finally asks, once Marinette's ducked in with them and made herself comfortable. "Does anyone count?"
