Summary
Aziraphale and Crowley engage in a lot of unaware mutual pining over the course of history. Crowley's attempts to successfully communicate his interest fail. (Because Aziraphale is oblivious.) And there is a lot of Shakespeare and random historical trivia. Because I say so.
"Crowley looked across the table at the angel, who still looked a little put out. The café was crowded with people, all plainly-dressed: some talking at the top of their voices in agitated French, some, like him and the angel, hunkered down low, speaking quietly. Aziraphale didn’t seem affect by the tension. He was picking apart his lemon and sugar crêpe with focused delicacy...."
