The stories were not posted chronologically. I have changed the order of the series to reflect their chronological order which is: Gathering Clouds, Tribute, Song of the Past, Battle Wounds, Conflict, Grief, The Jewel, Spite, Elder Shadows, Overcoming the Dark, Dol Guldur, Elrond's Council, The Seeing Stones.
The stories "Protector" and "Wandering Days" span through several ages.

Summary
It began with the Second Age. Or actually, it did not begin at all. It simply did not end. Against all odds, Maedhros and Maglor survive. For Elrond, that is a beginning of sorts. (Major character death for Gil-galad.)
