By this time, Starfleet is potent enough to take out Borg cubes now and then. Cleanup is generally simple: beam any invading Borg into space. But the U.S.S. Summary
After eight or nine episodes of Enterprise, my Star Trek Online character insisted she wanted to play. The plot bunny had me by the throat. This is the result.
Time-travel is a time-honored tradition in Starfleet. Why, every good little cadet dreams of the day when they'll get to meet someone important, themselves, or just check out old space stations when they were fresh and new. Not to mention even a dinky little ship will overpower the ones of the era!
But what's a green-blooded, pointy-eared captain to do when stopping the destruction of the first starship Enterprise leaves that important historical craft crippled? And with far too much likelihood of investigating things they shouldn't, that will upset the timeline and possibly unmake you?
In times like these, it's always worth thinking: WWKD? Where K is for the famous, infamous, and notorious Kirk, of course...

(phainopepla gave me permission to do fic with Black Tide at one point, and as threatened, here is the crackfic that resulted. Because playing in other people's fanfic results in crackfic. Meanwhile, I'm using a couple of original characters that belong to sith_shenanigans...)
The Na'kuhl lost their sun and became a species of time-travelers, seeking to undo the harm that was done to them. While they're not wrong in their outrage, their methods are too-often distasteful; destroying the Federation is not likely to fix the grave disservice that extinguished their sun!
But, well, that's what they're trying for. And in this case, they've figured out how to go to a point in spacetime that's long, long ago... in a galaxy far, far away, where a Knight of Ren is on patrol.
Naturally, Starfleet has to send someone to deal with this.
