Summary
It’s not a secret that Yamaguchi’s love language is mainly physical touch. Sure, he enjoys showing his love in other ways, like words of affirmations and quality time, but he’s always preferred touch.
Yamaguchi doesn’t quite know what Tsukishima’s love language is yet, although he’s fairly certain it’s not the same as him. He doesn’t mind moderating his amount of daily hugs if it means that his best friend isn't uncomfortable.
But when the two of them are (finally) together in a steady relationship, Yamaguchi’s opinion is forcefully changed.

Summary
Even before they started dating in their third year, Hinata knew that Kageyama’s love language was words of affirmation. He saw Kageyama react badly to words of criticism and smile slightly at words of encouragement. He noticed that if Kageyama compliments someone, he really means it. He also noticed how Kageyama would get flustered whenever he complimented his sets. Hinata just didn’t realize that Kageyama did that because he had feelings for him.
He’s a little bit silly like that.

“I wouldn’t say that you’re being shitty,” Kenma interrupts softly. “You haven’t been around as much, but that’s just because something’s going on, right? When you ignore whatever your emotions are telling you, you treat yourself like shit and this happens.”
Kuroo lets out a shaky breath and rolls his eyes with as much sass as he can muster (literally none). “That’s not true! Name one time that this has happened.”
“When your dad left and you pretended to be fine.”

“Half-expected you to call me Iwaizumi,” he snorts. “Shittykawa.”
He hears some rustling on the other end. “How drunk are you right now?”
“I’m so not,” Iwaizumi slurs, his articulation an answer in itself. He’s too drunk to feel embarrassed for himself, or to even register that he probably shouldn’t be on the phone with Oikawa in the first place. But his mouth opens anyway. “Why don’t you want me anymore?”
