Never one to leave a person in a worse mood than when they started, he lands a playful joke. “Feeling a bit chilly, Father? I could always warm you up.” He shines a stupid grin, fluttering his eyes dramatically.Mulcahy’s breath caught, the words hanging heavily in the air regardless of how they had been said. He turns slightly, water streaming down his face. “I’m fine, Hawkeye. Really.” He says uncertainly, taken aback when Hawkeye steps closer. His skin sings in goosebumps, hairs prickling—from the water. Not for any other reason.
