"You'd tell me if something was going on, wouldn't you?" Tony asked, voice low and soft how it got when he was trying to be serious instead of playing everything off as a joke, and it curled in Peter's gut like a warning.
"Y-yeah," Peter breathed, and he tucked his face into his pillow like he was tired to hide the shameful flush in his cheeks.
"That's what I would have told my dad too, and I would have absolutely been lying," Tony said, tone a little lighter. He added, "But then, I was never a good boy like you."
Peter Stark really didn't have ulterior motives when he decided to keep his identity as Spider-man secret from his dad-- he'd just wanted to earn his dad's respect as a fellow superhero first before he came clean, honest-- but then, he never expected Iron Man to be interested in him.
