Summary
Thetis has wished for her golden son to be a god since she first held him, to raise him away from the filth and greed of humanity and towards the beautiful grandeur of divinity. However, the gods on Olympus greedily covet their finest ambrosia to themselves.
Thetis scours the mortal realm for a way to give her son what is his by birthright. When she returns from her long search, she finds Achilles preparing for war and she knows she must act before he reaches the beaches of Troy. But, she knows Achilles will never leave his beloved mortal alone to die in the war, even for the promise of godhood.
Perhaps she can kill two birds with one stone. Or a dagger.
Or, instead of fighting and dying in the Trojan war, Achilles obtains godhood but pays a price he was unwilling to pay. Now his immortality bars him from entering Hade's house to reunite with his beloved, or so he thinks...

Summary
The future of Troy was uncertain. The fates had never spun any prophecies, the outcome was to be decided by mortals. These uncertainties had gathered many curious gods, the war was a playground where nothing was definite.
But as the years dragged on, many gods lost interest. This included Aphrodite. However, she may have found a way to end the war without bloodshed, all while rewarding a pious man.
She would give the Greeks a deal they could not refuse.
Or...
Andromache does not meet Hector, who longs for a mate and needs a future heir for Troy. Aphrodite offers him Patroclus.

Summary
There is a tradition in Pithia - every two years, a festival is held where young omegas are sent into the forest and the alphas follow soon after. To be mated during this sacred festival is considered good luck and the couple would be blessed with good fortune.
Achilles never cared about the festival that much.
