“Is everything alright, Siri?” Regulus asked.
“It’s my birthday tomorrow,” Sirius confessed, hiding a sniffle behind a hand.
“Yeah, and?”
“And,” he paused, took a breath, and looked up at Regulus as a single tear rolled down a sharp cheekbone, “they know that. Moony and James.” Sirius cleared his throat and it sounded like he was being strangled. “Wormy. They all know my birthday’s tomorrow. It’s tradition that we meet the night before and have a small party. Just the four of us, before we get the rest of the Gryffindors involved.”
“But…they didn’t come." It wasn’t a question because it was clear in Sirius’s pity party that no one had shown.
Or: this fic takes place after The Prank, where the Marauders aren't talking to Sirius, throwing Sirius into a HUGE depression. Regulus doesn't understand what happened between everyone, but he loves his brother and still tries to comfort him as best he can.
AKA: my excuse to write a sweet little moment between the Black brothers because I love them so much.

“Don’t know why you always use my wand, when yours is more suited to your magic style,” Remus remarked, a playful glint in his eyes as Sirius perked up and gently accepted the wand. “That is why Olivander matched the two of you.”
“Same reason I always steal your jumpers,” Sirius replied, a roguish smirk playing on his lips as he stood.
“And what reason is that, Pads?” Remus inquired, his voice laced with curiosity and a hint of amusement.
“‘Cus they’re yours,” Sirius confessed without an ounce of self-consciousness because he was always honest with Remus, his tone tinged with affection as he met Remus’s gaze. “And your things are always better.”
or, Sirius and Remus share their wands because Sirius always loses his (and Remus always manages to find it), James knocks some sense into Sirius, and WolfStar becomes a thing.

“Merlin’s fucking beard, Sirius, just how many cigarettes did you smoke this morning?” Lupin exclaimed, his nose scrunching up at the scent, pushing his boyfriend away from where he’d had his arm around Lupin’s shoulders.
“Me?” Sirius retorted with a petulant twist to his mouth and a whine in his smooth voice that Regulus knew meant he was one second away from verbally assaulting the taller man. “You smell like if Honeydukes and cigarettes had a baby, Moony. It’s actually kind of sickening.” He faked a gag for emphasis.

A.K.A: the Marauders (including Lily) as a queer friend group that everyone thinks is dating each other. But that's to be expected when you find both your platonic (Remus/Lily and James/Sirius) and romantic (Remus/Sirius and Lily/James) soulmates. Honestly? It's mostly my excuse to indulge in a lot of fluff and what I'd consider funny banter.
