Summary
Castiel learned a very interesting lesson the more time he spent with the Winchesters. It took years, and one specific Winchester, to fully appreciate the complexity of feelings that eating could create.
Feelings of belonging. Sitting together, discussing a case, or (on rare occasion) small talk.
Feelings of fulfillment. Nourishing both body and soul, (although his vessel did not require food and actually made his tongue feel weird as the molecules moved over it).
Contentment, excitement, exhaustion, gratitude, annoyance. All common to find around the Winchester’s eating location of choice, and Castiel was learning to become comfortable with them all.
Desire was an unexpected addition to the table.
