And Marinette kept protesting and pulling and whining and being generally a pest the whole time, until Chloé threw her through the doors to the changing rooms and slammed her into a locker, and put one hand on either side of the baker girl’s head.
“Marinette Dupain-Cheng,” she said, adding as much dripping contempt to her tone as she could muster. But honestly, she was still angry, and it just didn’t come off right. Anger wasn’t contempt, it was — anger.
Marinette shrank. She didn’t try to duck under Chloé’s arms, and she didn’t try to kick or push. Like always, she just stood there like a little wet kitten. “... Are you… are you going to stuff me into a locker again?”

Chloé is upset that Lila is stealing her thunder when it comes to bullying Marinette. Desperate to claw back control over the baker girl, she hatches a plan with Marinette to lie straight back at Lila - because the truth obviously isn't working. When Marinette accepts, Chloé is delighted - but her delight turns to ash in her mouth as she realises that hanging out with Marinette on equal terms is actually more fun than trying to ruin the girl's life.

Here, in a teenager’s bedroom, there was a crib with a baby in it.
“I need you to help me raise her,” said Aeon. “I found her on the street, and I don’t have any expertise with babies. I haven’t even been a baby before. So I called for a babysitter I knew I could trust.”
“I see,” said Marinette. She looked at the little sleeping infant. ‘Adorable’ would be an understatement. It looked incredibly soft, and its half-open mouth was covered with bubbles of spit. Black hair, couldn’t be more than five months old, already had some pretty significant eyelashes, seemed to have eaten well so far in life.
Then, “Why me?”
“Because you are the only one who can help me,” said Aeon. She looked, and sounded, serious.

Marinette gets recruited by Aeon Hill to babysit a five-month-old infant. Being profoundly in love already, Marinette agrees to help. However, as time goes on and she grows closer to Aeon, she learns that the superhero known as Uncanny Valley has some deeper motivations - and questions about what life can truly mean for her.
And Marinette struggles to answer those questions for her, but that doesn't mean she'll give up on trying.

“Remember when I dated Prince Ali for a bit, Marinette?” said Rose.
“Yeah, I remem— wait, you two actually dated?” said Marinette.
“Yes,” sighed Rose, whirling her spoon hand around a little. “For… three weeks? I think? But it was long distance and it didn’t work out, so we split up. And I realised I had someone much nicer right next to me in the classroom.”
Juleka grabbed the spoon out of Rose’s hand at that, just a little bit red in the face. “Yr turn,” she said, and cut out a small piece of ice cream.
“Anyway,” Rose went on as that was happening, “I already had the serious hots for Juleka at that point. I just hadn’t realimmmf—”
“Eat.” Juleka’s voice was firm and intense as she held the spoon unmoving inside Rose’s mouth.

Rose and Juleka have a little ice cream date by the Seine, which gets interrupted when a lovelorn Marinette walks past. Rose offers her some advice, but in the process she also starts to worry about her own relationship with Juleka. How deep their feelings go - what they owe each other - and what would happen if, god forbid, they ever were to split up.
