That snaps Jinx’s head up faster than anything else he’s said this whole meeting, with her hands freezing mid-air. Ekko’s mouth hangs open, incredulously looking at Maybe-Jimmy.
“What?” They say at the same time. Their gazes meet each other, twin bewildered looks on their faces.

Summary
La sonrisa se congeló en la cara de Ekko, a la vez que sentía que un enojo irracional se esparcía por sus venas. Le tembló el ojo derecho, y tuvo que respirar muy hondo para no decirle a Jinx que prefería morirse antes que concursar por un cargo contra ella.
Todo esto sucedió en su mente durante el segundo más largo y tortuoso que Ekko vivió jamás.

The smile froze on Ekko’s face, as he felt an irrational anger spread through his veins. His right eye twitched, and he had to take a deep breath to keep from telling Jinx that he’d rather die than run for a position against her.
All of this thought process happened in the longest, most torturous second Ekko ever lived.
“Oh, really? Look at that, that's great."

Okay, so, apparently he’s quite the bastard around here.
Not only he joined Silco, and consistently betrays him by hooking up with Jinx, who’s apparently the one who turned into a vigilante and established the Firelights, but also he frequents Babette’s brothel and tells the girls working there to dye their hair blue, and he has the faint feeling that has something to do with Jinx.
He’s dying to know how all of this happened, how did the roles get reversed so drastically, but he can’t go around asking that without sounding crazy, can he now?
(or: when the anomaly threw Ekko in another universe, he landed in the one where he was taken in by Silco and Powder established the Firelights.)
