Summary
Four years after his escape, Hannibal Lecter is once again imprisoned at the hospital in Baltimore. He's the same as ever, except that he refuses to discuss Will Graham, who there hasn't been a trace of in years. When the Buffalo Bill killings start, FBI trainee Clarice Starling is sent to interview him, and Hannibal has his interest piqued. But it’s not for reasons anyone would suspect, and as usual, his motivations are all about Will. A remix of Silence of the Lambs, where Clarice finds herself occupied not only with catching Buffalo Bill, but with unraveling the mystery of what exactly happened to Will Graham. And Hannibal knows more than he’s letting on about both.

Will lowered the window, letting the night breeze in as Hannibal walked up to the car. He leaned over to catch Hannibal’s gaze with a smirk. “You need a ride, mister?”
Hannibal placed one hand on the roof of the car as he bent down. “A dangerous pastime in this day and age, picking up hitchhikers. I could be a psychopath.”
Will gave him a sharp grin as he unlocked the door. “I’m counting on it.”

Dr. Lecter moved to pick up his glass, slowly swirling the wine before he took a drink. “It’s curious. Twice now our paths have crossed, and each time you have inadvertently reunited me with Will.”
Clarice turned that statement over in her head. “Are you saying I’m some sort of good luck?”
He smirked at that, his lips twisting slightly in amusement. “Merely that you have brought serendipity.”
