Summary
Remember when Weiss and Ruby took exactly one day to get used to each other? This is that episode but stretched into a month. Plus some other stuff that beefs up volume 1 overall without changing canon.
-
“Is she right? Did you make a mistake?”
Ozpin chuckles beneath his breath. “That remains to be seen.”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, it's only been one month.” Ozpin clarifies. “Ruby... I've made more mistakes than any human, faunus, and child of either on this planet. But at this moment, I would not consider your appointment to leader to be one of them.” He leans forward on his desk, resting his chin on a hand. “Do you?”
Ruby looks away and shrugs. Ozpin seems almost omnipresent to her, she can’t really see him making a mistake. Not a big one, anyway.
“Being a team leader isn't just a title you carry into battle, but a badge you wear constantly.” He tells her. “If you're not always performing at your absolute best, then what reason do you give others to follow you?”

Summary
If nothing mattered at all outside what Weiss wanted, then their team configuration wouldn’t ever bother her. But everything mattered, all the time. So long as it could be perceived, it mattered. It could be judged. And if it were judged poorly, it could be taken away.
And Weiss didn’t want this to be taken away.
The next time she looked back up, Yang had returned, holding two cones of frozen yogurt. She held a purple one close to her chest, and the white one out toward Weiss. “Here. Figured you were a vanilla girl.”
This abrupt gesture caught her by surprise for a moment, but she recovered, taking the dairy treat from her. “I actually prefer mint flavors, but thank you.”
Aka, two missing scenes that take place during the series where Yang and Weiss talk about each other and their relationship with Blake, and how they feel about her leaving.

Various one shots that take place in RWBY's main canon that I didn't want to post on their own.

Ch3: Yang and Blake share a dance at the Beacon dance, and Yang almost comes to a mortifying realization about her feelings for Blake.

Summary
A few scenes and an introspective look at Yang in volume 4, fleshing out more of her recovery.
She didn’t get this version of her dad back then. It feels too late to collapse into his arms. She wishes either one of them were strong enough for it, but Yang can’t open up and Tai can’t receive it. And in her grief, she is alone.
Or maybe Tai is grieving too, over the loss of a daughter he sees everyday, an empty shell of the girl he wasn’t able to raise.

Summary
The girl giggled a little more than what’s warranted. That’s what first puts Blake on edge. “That’s funny!” She said brightly. “You know, you want combat gear to be form-fitting, so it won’t get in your way. Maybe we could go take some measurements?” She suggests, shamelessly letting her eyes drop to Yang’s chest and arms momentarily before looking back up. “Just to make sure it’ll fit.”
“Oh, do you really need to be that precise?” Yang asked, startled, but dead fucking serious.
There’s no way Yang’s gonna let her get away with this, right?
The Atlas girl took a step closer to her. “It’ll optimize movement.”
Oh my brothers, Yang’s gonna let her get away with it.
Or; 5 times Blake was jealous about her partner getting attention, and the one time she did something about it.

Summary
That one scene where the ship goes down and Tyrian kills Clover, except more dialogue is exchanged during the fight and we get to see more of a clash between Clover and Qrow’s ideologies, better setting up Qrow’s arc in volume 8 and extended said arc to be more clear, and cementing what he’s supposed to have learned from Clover.
“I see the goodness in you, Qrow.” Clover insists, lowering his weapon. “Whether you want it or not.” Qrow could cry. “Ironwood doesn’t do things for no reason, and I believe he’s a good person. I have to believe that. I have to believe that if we go back and talk to him, we can understand why he’s doing this and get you out of it. I trust James with my life… and I wanted to trust you.”
Clover’s luck had to run out eventually, it always does.

Summary
(Several moment in volume 9 that highlight Yang’s self sacrificial tendencies that lead to Blake staging a conversation with her about it, that mirrors Burning The Candle.)
Yang pushed forward, half a step closer. “This is a war, Blake. It’s our job to protect the lives of others at any cost, at any risk.”
“And if we all got ourselves killed that way, there’d be no huntsmen left.” Blake took the last step in, now having to look up at her. Yang sucked a breath in, from the closeness, yeah, but also from the words, cut deep in her skin. “You think leaving the White Fang means I’ve given up on this? Because I haven’t. There’s ways to protect the people you care about without throwing your life away.”
Yang seizes up, clenching her jaw. She’s not angry, Yang can recognize anger. She’s being seen, and it scares her— in a way Blake knowing her doesn’t usually do.

Summary
Ruby skipped over to the bed and fetched her scroll, opening it back up to where she had been at previously. “Okay, because this is at the top of the mission board right now.” She handed her phone to her sister. “There’s a tribe that needs a huntsmen escort back to the city because people in their group keep going missing.” She described. “They’re nearby, and they really need our help.”
Yang hummed, reading the mission description. Ruby crosses her fingers and her toes. Her team doesn’t blindly follow her, and Ruby doesn’t want to force them into anything that can’t be agreed unanimously. But Ruby needs this. She can’t put an exact explanation on why, she just does.
Yang purses her lips, and Ruby realizes she’s just staring at it for extra long just to be annoying.
“Yaaaaang!” Ruby groans.
AKA: Taking the general vibes and character beats of the JLXRWBY movie part II and turning it into a story that could logically take place in the actual main timeline of the story.
