Summary
In which the Dark Urge tries to find a home throughout the years, guided by the river.
Thunder followed the lightning so fast this time, he thought it might strike near him. A gleeful giggle escaped him. Dad would be mad, but this was worth it. The river needed the company.
Sometimes he felt bad for it.
So much anger in it, that it couldn't be contained. A strength that nothing would stop. It grew, and grew, until it destroyed everything in its path. And the farmers would curse the river. The people whose homes had been overrun by the waters would curse the river. Anybody who had lost land, loved ones, or possessions to the raging flow would curse the river.
But he knew. It wasn't its fault.
And so whenever the river was overtaken by the anger of the skies, he ran to the shore to whisper in the middle of the tempest. "I understand. I understand, it's alright."

Summary
In which the Dark Urge falls in love, for the second time of his life. And while it is true that for most people, love stories end in tragedy, he is not most people. He is Bhaal's Chosen. And this makes the ending so, so much worse.
"An apple for your horse?" the human woman had asked with a cheeky look to her dark brown eyes, looking up at him with a basket full of fruits propped on one hip.
He had seen her cross the clearing surrounding her house from afar, walking up the path that meandered through trees turned yellow by the arrival of autumn. The internal debate of whether or not he should turn around to not have to speak to her had proved fruitless, and he had stopped walking only when she had accosted him, River halting at his side.
"I believe this is how sad fairytales begin," he'd answered in kind. "Tell me, which ones are poisoned?"
She might have been a spy, after all. A clumsy assassin, believing a simple mortal hand could ever be the end of him. If only. But her laughter had been an unexpected thing, and he'd found himself smiling at her.
She'd winked at him. "Wouldn't it ruin the story, if I told you?"Series

Summary
In which the Dark Urge is having a very rough first day, and meets Tav, who helps him while he searches for a name that feels his.
'Do you have a name?' was what they'd asked, though. Not 'What's your name', but 'Do you have a name'.Getting the word out felt impossible, but they waited patiently, and his mouth eventually caught up with his brain, the air leaving his lungs with a whispered, "No."
They almost laughed, he could tell, but it was a gentle thing. "The Feys won't get you, then. Although that's not exactly the immediate danger, I'm afraid." The hand they extended to him shone with endless golden rings. "I'm Natavriel. You can call me Tav, if you like."
The silver of his rings met the gold of theirs, and he worked the syllable out, slowly. "Tav."
"Let's get out of this place, yes? I'm sure we can find you some clothes on the way."
He nodded once more, only because this was so much easier than speaking.
"Come on," said Tav, gently tugging at his hand. "I really don't want to die here, it's way too ugly."

Summary
In which Tav tries to make sure Storm is safe within the group, despite the threat that he poses and the growing worries concerning their own state of mind.
It had been years since the power they'd kept from the Feywild had misbehaved like that. Nine years, to be perfectly exact. And that last time it had happened, Tav had been forced to call for Meli's help, for fear they would do something irreparably stupid. As so often happened, whenever the ever changing tide of their moods escaped them and the magic flared with chaos in consequence. But they couldn't afford stupid, not right now. Not when everybody's safety depended on their decisions.
It had to be the tadpole's doing. It had to be. No need for concern now, their mind was still their own, and everything was under control. Probably.
The more immediate worry, the one that truly kept their thoughts away from Wyll's re-enactment and Karlach's laughter, was that Storm had barely slept at all in the three days that had passed since that poor dragonborn had met an untimely end at his hand.
