Oh, this one was nice, as I was in the mood for a really ragged and sad and just DONE Draco, and that's what I got. He's in an awful position, owes a huge debt, has to take care of his mother in hospice, isn't a Professor when everyone else is. He goes along on the expedition hoping to get a gem so he can pay of his debtor, and for no other reason. The landscape they all travel is wondrous, as are the creative ways everyone slowly gets filtered off. Potter and Malfoy get to spend some time together, and Draco slowly starts to relax. Ending seems a little rushed (I'd have liked some more comfort than just, oh, everything's fine now, there was never any reason to feel bad), but that's minor in the scheme of things.
