Diese Arbeit beschreibt die Ereignisse des ersten Buchen (Fourth Wing) aus der Sicht von Ridoc Gamlyn. In dieser Geschichte wird es darum gehen wie Ridoc das erste Jahr am Basgiath War College erlebt und sich in seinen Staffelkameraden Liam Mairi verkuckt.
Die Geschichte beginnt in der Schlange vor dem Viadukt am Einberufungstag, hier lernen Ridoc und Liam sich kennen.
