Bookmark Notes:
Great series with darker themes and an Ivy ("I'm a very beautiful woman, you know") and Harley (more airheaded than usual with no sign of Harleen) who are lifted from the comics rather than the animated series, but that's ok. The highlight is one of the best Arkham escapes I've ever read -- the planning and execution of the 'Wizard of Oz' jailbreak is super fun! But Ivy makes the same mistake that everyone makes in every Batman or Batman-adjacent story ever, and that is she doesn't kill Joker when she has the chance(s). Say it with me now, in a Gretchen Weiner voice, "WE SHOULD ALL JUST STAB JOKER!" Reading the sequel is a must to fill out some parts of the story that are left unaddressed. It also allows some of the seeds that have been planted in part 1 to come to fruition in part 2, which is so worth it.
