Summary
In the 40s, omega slick was commonly used to give alphas fighting in the war a cutting edge, due to the heightened endurance and strength that came with rutting. Soon after World War Two ended, the practice was abolished as it could lead to addiction and dangerously long ruts.
Unfortunately, Steve never saw the end of the war. And now that he's been found in the ice, his body is still riddled with the aftereffects of an extended slick high.
Thankfully SHIELD has just the omega to help him through it.

He brought his shitty pipe dream of finding Steve Rogers to the grave with him. I didn't even know there was still a damn team looking for him. I would've disbanded them.”
Fury stops abruptly in front of a pale gray door. “There wasn't. Not officially, anyways. This?” He points a thumb over his shoulder to the narrow, bullet-proof glass window. “You could call it luck, or you could say it's fate.”
“Or a nightmare.” Tony mutters.
