Georgia Jacobs wakes up in Vault 111 reeling from the shock of losing her son and almost losing her life. Her spouse's pod is empty, and she has no idea the state of the world. So she leaves and only has one goal in mind. Finding her son. No matter the cost. What she doesn't expect is to like the people she's stumbled across since waking. Family issues, emotional baggage, and a constant state of stress follows her along in the Commonwealth. She feels like she's drowning without an escape rope, and every problem she encounters only seems to pile more on.

Nate stops beside the couch, silently waiting for me to scoot over so he can sit in his designated ‘spot’. But I just watch the TV as he rests his hands on his waist, growing more impatient by the second. But his bored smile doesn’t stray.
“If you’re not gonna get a job, then you can at least scoot.”
I snicker and finally relent, and he happily takes his spot. “What’s the point?” I counter, gesturing to the TV with my spoon. “The world’s ending anyway.”

As Nora’s younger sister, straight out of college, the world ends before you can finish your breakfast. Making the mistake of trusting the nearby Vault, you’re forced to watch as your sister is shot, your nephew is stolen, and your brother-in-law is left to die so he doesn’t come for revenge.
Thanks to Nate, Nora doesn’t share the same last name as you anymore. So the intruders don’t realize that there’s one more survivor that just might bring the revenge that they tried to snuff out. A survivor that a Ghoulish Mayor might take a cautious liking to. After all, who doesn't like a little trouble?

Summary
This is (likely) (no longer likely...it WILL be) a full trilogy novelization of my conception of a realistic run through of Fallout with a Female Sole Survivor. After my first run through as a male (with a war veteran background) I tried to rationalize why a female sole survivor, as a lawyer, wasn't immediately "chewed up and spit out" by the Commonwealth. I came up with an idea. Then I ran through the game, with mods, as an RP run, with that reason always foremost in my mind. And because I have a "type" my Sole Survivors always wind up with Piper. Nora ended up with her as well. Of course.
This is that story.

After the bombs fell, children became a precious rarity. The radiation left many women, even those who didn't become ghouls, unable to even get pregnant. Those that were able to had a whole new hosts of challenges to face. Lack of food, safe drinking water, and proper medical equipment meant that many pregnancies ended in tragedy. Even the act of being born was deadly in the Wasteland.
