Summary
Rumor wakes up from his previous mission, shaking off the psyko-rescaping. He finds his marks again in his warband, picking back up the plan he has been following for years. It feels familiar, to juggle between his Iron warrior Warchief's foul mood, his Word Bearer caretaker and his need for worship, his World Eater coworker haunting the halls... But at least he has his Thousand Son brother to tease, and their Salamander slave to annoy! So things aren't so bad.
At least until a part of his next mission takes a turn, and he had to pick up the pieces to make something out of it. Something that won't get him killed.Series

Summary
Scorching the surface of Rykad Minoris left Odessa von Valancius a broken shell of the woman she was becoming, but with no one able to get close enough to look deeper, the Rogue Trader's mask still worked as a face. Until she was forced to dance on the strings of greater powers that led her into the path of a Drukhari Dracon, Marazhai Aezyrraesh. After they predictably kept clashing and unexpectedly kept surviving, he'd have done anything to capture the haughty little human who humiliated him in front of his underlings and kept spoiling his raids.
When Marazhai's trap for her went off without a hitch and his gamble in the Obsidian Court paid off, Odessa found herself trapped in the Spire of the Reaving Tempest, the special little plaything of the newly ascended Archon.
Or more succinctly: Nazrakhei decided to be more self-interested than he was spiteful, and act 3 played out very differently for Marazhai and the Rogue Trader. Contains spoilers for act 4 and 5 plot points.

He also left Yrliet, who has against all odds managed to make a life for herself among the Dark Kin. But her new existence as a winged Scourge is interrupted when a normal assignment brings back the things she has tried to forget.
Marazhai Aezyrraesh has claimed his sister's throne and is equally determined to let his time with the mon'keigh adventurer die unremembered, but the reappearance of one who knows his secrets disrupts his carefully constructed rebuilding of the kabal.

Summary
Following the successful defense of Cosperan from the Drukhari, Caius and his newfound team receive the formal blessing from the Inquisition to go after Hepharion on the planet where it all began: Novrasa, the dead world once home to the heart of Project Apocalypsis Dominus. They head first to Novrasa's twin, the paradise world of Orphis, where they learn that the ghosts which are said to haunt the sister world might be far more sinister than just old stories to frighten children at night.
Pursued by the Kabal of the Screaming Dawn on one side and pursuing Hepharion on the other, the group's problems only mount when Bahad learns that he himself is pursued by the last person he wishes to see. Sent by the Farseers of Ulthwé to hunt down their wayward companion, Autarch Cial-Cadach has tracked Bahad to Orphis and will stop at nothing to bring him back, no matter how vital his role in putting an end to Hepharion's machinations might be.
Armed with time, the group knows that they need to find a way to land on Novrasa and unlock it's secrets before Hepharion, unaware that what they might find there could change everything they know about the project... and themselves.

She shakes her head and focuses back on the immediate danger as the Scourge is calmly closing the distance with a sadistic grin.

Blood spatters Evanelia as a blade suddenly sticks out of the assassin’s torso. The xenos shrieks, feebly tries to fight back, blood dripping from their mouth. A gloved hand appears from behind, seizes the jaw and twists the neck, with a sickening sound of breaking bones. The creature collapses like a broken doll on the ground and its murderer steps over the corpse.
“What else now ? What other madness is coming for me ?” she thinks, pressing herself a little closer to the wall. Her vision is blurred and doubled. She hardly sees a tall, broad-shoulder figure clad in red and gold filling the space before her.
Evanelia grits her teeth.
A lie. A trick. Again.
Surely it is only another illusion if Heinrix’s voice full of worry is calling her name.

He laughs, damn him, and the sound of that dark chuckle awakens a desire she’d thought the remnants of the mind-worm’s delusion when it first skittered and popped beneath her skin. “Yes,” he says, and he is closer to her now; she can hear the plates of his armor scrape as he bends down, and feels an oddly cool breath ghost against her cheek. The forked tongue she threatened to cut out could dart out to taste the lobe of her ear, and she doesn’t have to see his leer to know that he may very well be considering it. “You still know your role after all.”
