And just as she was about to give in and dial the loving brunette, the door clicked, and Weiss jumped to her feet in an instant. Her smile was wide and ready to greet (and mildly reprimand) Ruby, her body only barely standing still as the door creaked open.
But her joy was quickly cut short by the sight she was met with.
In front of her was Ruby Rose, her best friend and lifetime partner, who was slightly bloodied and heavily bruised in a way Weiss had never seen before. It made her heart drop; her stomach churning; and as Ruby met Weiss's terrified gaze, she gave the ivory-haired woman a lopsided smile and said, “I’m home.”
