For someone like Enjolras to lose his mind, when his mind is his greatest asset, is the cruellest punishment imaginable. If a fool were to lose their mind, Grantaire thinks, then of course it would be sad, but when a genius loses their mind, then it is sacrilege. Like a painter losing his sight, or a musician losing her hearing. Enjolras has lost the most important tool of his trade, the tallest pillar of his identity, and it is a tragedy.
While Paris is struck by the celebrations of the New Year, Grantaire's world is falling away at his feet as Enjolras teeters on the edge of sanity and something else entirely. Desperate to help Enjolras regain his footing, Grantaire tries to rebalance their lost equilibrium, but he doesn't know how to be the strong one, and he certainly doesn't know how to stop Apollo from falling.

Ian likes to know his surroundings and have control over it. Kook and Tattoo being in his vicinity meant he also needed to control them and his friends, to know them, but there is one thing that he miscalculated.
Jimin.“I don’t want to waste my time on you. I’m only putting up with you because of Kook,” Ian had said to Jimin one day. The pout and hurt look on Jimin’s face that evening had only annoyed him.
Kook had spent a lot of days ignoring Ian but to his surprise, Jimin had treated Ian just like he treats Tattoo. And then Ian knew: Jimin is a pushover. He doesn’t like pushovers, at all, and Kook doesn’t need any pushovers in his life. It’s a bad influence.
Ian remembers the first time he pushed Jimin against a wall and caged him against it with his arms. He vividly remembers Jimin’s wide eyes, the soft gasp that left his plump lips, and how he had raised his shoulder, appeared smaller than he already is. Ian should have known then.

There’s a stormcloud bruise over Johnny's right cheek and his lip is split. His knuckles are grazed and peppered with cuts, and there’s a nasty wound on his abdomen. The blood was concerning at first, a deadly flower blossomed all over his clothes and on the floor beneath him. He quickly learned Johnny was mostly fine, just beaten worse than half the streets in NC. His little tv show crime scene was more pure dramatics than anything. Even with that, his pitiful state still makes Vega frow his brows as he patches the gonk up. Part of him wants to cause a scene, have a go at Johnny, kick and scream, but he doesn’t. Didn’t. Simply picked him up (as well as he could at 5’4) and carried him home silently and methodically.
“‘Course I fucking can. Not gonna flatline just cause some gonks can throw a punch V. Got my fucking arm blown off for christ’s sake.”
