Before any real feelings for the ruler besides a deep sense of friendship and appreciation, it was the lure of touch, of real skin on skin brushes, of pleasure, that kept putting Edwin on his path even though the bracelet was long gone, and the deal, dealt.

Edwin and The Cat King have engaged in a casual intimate relationship. Well, it's casual for Edwin, because the Cat King is actually pretty deep in this already. Each time they have sex, the ghost leaves without much in terms of tender touches or aftercare, and each time, breaks a little more of the King's heart in the process. They're going to talk this through, but they'll have to be obtuse idiots about it first. Also, the cats are trying to get involved, I guess.
