Summary
Beating the evil fox spirit was a feat that would take many nightmares and panic attacks before Stiles ever slept properly again. Add into his new relationship with Malia, the stress may be getting to him. Stiles' only way to feel safe is to keep working, and going over things he'd already gone over. Most of his memory is intact it would seem, but the fox spirit must have left something in the dark--he must have done something because Stiles cannot remember a factor in the Hale House fire.
That factor was Derek Hale, one of the only survivors from the fire--being that he wasn't actually in it but had the torturous luck to watch it. Problem is, Stiles cannot remember him--cannot even see him. At least not always. When Stiles is so tired he goes to sleep, he's refreshed enough to seek Derek for a time. Usually at midnight, since that's when Stiles wakes up from his nightmare. There isn't much Derek can do, hell they don't have much of a relationship between themselves besides the occasional need to screw someone that Derek has. So why is Stiles remembering him so important?

He believed that with the help of his old friend, Philza, he could escape the dark parts of his past and finally start a new. Though when a girl shows up nearly dead in the snow after a harsh blizzard, what will this mean for the man who thought he could run away from the world? The girl has no memories and no recollections of her time before ending up face first in the snow, but with nowhere else to go… She stays to recover with the help of Philza and Techno keeping a close eye on her. Maybe without her memories, it makes it easier for him to find trust in someone new for once- or will Techno gain a reason to go against the promise he made with himself and his sins?

Mod Moth: This story is so complex and has so many levels, and still, stays faithful to itself. It has a good mixture of keeping things light and soft while also dipping its toes in light angst. The best way I have to describe it is based on the atmosphere - slightly sad and bittersweet, even with the happy ending. Remus and Sirius are very careful and soft here, and the way they move around each other makes your heart ache with the most beautiful longing. Their friendship is very honest and real, and the ending explains perfectly where the cracks in their relationship were, and how Remus’ doubts and hesitance is legitimate. An amazing work of more ‘casual’ representation, where the focus is not the social identities or disabilities of the characters (but let me tell you, Latino, disabled Remus holds a special place in my heart), but they still are part of who they are.
