Summary
In an alternate universe following the events of Portal 1, Chell doesn’t completely destroy GLaDOS and is instead placed into cryosleep. Years later, GLaDOS and her worker cores uncover a hidden vault containing hundreds of deep-sleep human test subjects.
Chell—and many others—are awakened and greeted not by GLaDOS herself, but by her unexpectedly kind assistant: Vyn, and an anxious droid named Wheatley, who struggles to keep his thoughts (or head) straight.
As Chell adjusts to the disorienting reality of other humans being alive within Aperture—she finds herself forming an unlikely alliance with Mark, a nervous test subject who quietly shares a dangerous prospect:
He has an escape plan—for anyone willing to take the risk.
But with GLaDOS watching their every move, Vyn questioning her own programming, and Wheatley becoming increasingly unstable, survival might be the most difficult test yet…

Summary
While in the depths of Old Aperture, Chell and GLaDOS began a begrudging alliance and an uneasy truce. Now, it continues.
Mere months after Chell was ejected from Aperture, the landscape is blanketed in a frigid, post-apocalyptic winter, and Chell returns to the only place nearby that can withstand it. With a new truce in place, she resumes her life at the Enrichment Centre, in a (usually) much less life-threatening way than before. Meanwhile, GLaDOS continues to struggle with her feelings— unable to accept that she might feel more than just loathing toward a certain mute lunatic.
