Summary
This story follows Getou Suguru as he starts to lose himself after the Star Plasma Vessel incident. Gojo Satoru can either ignore all the signs, or he can reach out and pull Suguru back before the darkness claims him.
Suguru’s spiral is not towards the point where he commits mass murder (as in the anime) but he is losing his purpose in life, and does not believe he deserves to live after letting Riko die.
Satoru knows something is wrong, but with the rumours spreading around Jujutsu high and everyone turning their backs on Suguru, he can’t decide whether which side he should take.

Suguru once asked Kusakabe what the end goal was for creating the Goei-shi. His sensei shrugs. “Sometimes, people are just tired of sitting by,” he says, grimacing around the lollipop in his mouth. “Watching bad things happen to people around them. ‘Specially when they think they can do something about it.”
He misses when he used to be that kind of person, but he’s not exactly drowning in apathy-- more so, drowning in frustration and despair.
Gojo, when he deigns to grace Suguru with his presence again, scoffs at the concept. “I bet they’re just trying to prevent another Fushiguro from happening,” he says. “One more guard dog for today, one less Sorcerer Killer tomorrow.”
Suguru nods in agreement with the notion.
In the aftermath of the assassination of the Star Plasma Vessel, the higher-ups decide that they'd rather integrate humans with low cursed energy and no innate techniques into Jujutsu society as bodyguards known as the Goei-shi for their sorcerers rather than risk another Fushiguro Toji. The closer they got to the middle, the more dread pooled in Geto's stomach. He couldn't bring himself to look as they finally reached the small island. He choked back a harsh sob as he saw a tuft of blood-soaked white hair. His hands went up to yank at his own, his eyes wide as tears stained his cheeks. He crawled off the curse and bat off more flyheads as he made his way to the corpse.
He was right. Geto almost couldn't recognize this as Gojo. But, the blue eyes blown wide in a final moment of desperation gave it away. -
