Seryllith let out a faint scoff at that. “I have changed since we last saw each other, Vidar,” she said, and though there was the slightest curve to her mouth, her eyes remained steady on his. She shook her head once. “No. No, I am done hiding.” As she spoke, thin strands of her magic slipped into the room, controlled and intoxicating, spreading outward without touching either of them but making their presence known. “The Dark Lord has invited death to come early,” she continued, her tone even.
