Aizawa Shouta is tasked with finding and arresting the Shie Hassaikai killer. If he’s going to do it, however, he’s going to need information, something that seems to be in short supply for this particular case.
Fortunately for him, there’s a new face in the underground info business - well, a new face in the sense that somebody’s been supplying good info to both sides. Tentatively given the name ‘Harbinger’, this broker supposedly knows more than the internet.
Unfortunately for him, Harbinger doesn’t seem to want to help him out. Go figure. More work for him.

He shortly realises that the singer had an accident and doesn't remember a thing, a misunderstanding leads him to believe he is Geralt's lover and the Witcher, too scared to lose him again, doesn't correct him.

Jaskier is a bard, first and foremost. But he's much more than that, not that he would let anyone he didn't have to know. Travelling with Geralt was supposed to be a way out of the shadows of his darker past. Regardless of how long he traveled with the Witcher, his previous colleagues never forgot how he always got his more unsavory jobs done. And so a new job opportunity from an old friend draws him back to Oxenfurt, and onto one of his most dangerous jobs yet.
Despite not wanting his Witcher friend to know every one of his secrets, it becomes a necessity to save him.Alternatively; Jaskier is a BAMF with a dark past and a lot more expertise than he lets show. When a job goes wrong, Geralt ends up saving him, and learning more than Jaskier would have liked.
Will Geralt and Jaskier continue traveling together, or will this be too much for them to overcome together?

Summary
Jaskier has been hiding his draconic 'heritage' for as long as he could remember. And travelling with Geralt and Ciri, it didn't seem to be an issue. That is until a notice comes up about hunting dragons.
All of a sudden, everything is thrown into disarray as he has to face feelings and impulses he had been suppressing for years, nothing seems safe anymore. Geralt tries to fix it.
“No, we need to keep Ciri safe first I-.”
This whole interaction is too intense for him to even begin to comprehend. Fear grips him from all angles, practically strangling him as he just tries to breathe. And then of course there's Geralt being so soft with him, something he only did in small moments. It hurts seeing Geralt so scared for him.
“Geralt-”
“It’s okay. We’ll get you out of here. I won’t let them hurt you, I promise.”

Since his early days at Kaer Morhen, Geralt was told to ignore his emotions. They would do him no good, rather, they would bring him nothing but misery. If he took attachments, if he cared about people he met along the way, it would just put them in harm's way. They would die one day while he would live or he would get them killed. Witchers, Alphas bastardized and stripped of all that made them protectors and providers while still children, were not meant to be loved, nor to love. Such was their lot in life. A Witcher could only depend on himself or his brothers. Most of his brothers were slaughtered by an angry mob. Geralt wanders the continent alone. He understands well the first lesson Vesemir taught him. He was not made to love, and to love another would be unkind.
Jaskier doesn't care about all that nonsense.
