Frankie laughs and slaps him on the shoulder. This close to him, Jack can see the remnants from his water bottle gleaming, wet rivulets making his dark skin darker still. He wants to lick it off him, to feel the damp. He thinks, unbidden and a bit sickeningly, of his baptism; dipping beneath the surface, born anew. He shifts his legs, pushing his knees together tight, swallowing through a throat pulled just as tightly. A kinked up garden hose. Pressure building, building, building. No release until he’s unwound.
