Summary
Lyarra Snow was a bastard and despite what Lady Catelyn may have thought, she never forgot that fact. By her father, Lord Eddard Stark’s word, she’d been raised besides his true children, but it had always felt as if she lived a parallel existence. So close to true family, yet never able to be fully welcomed. Lyarra knew she was lucky to have a father who loved her so, but her heart yearned for adventure beyond the walls of Winterfell – to have a place she truly belonged. During a visit from the royal family, Ned Stark realizes the dangers awaiting his family. At the behest of Maester Luwin, the Lord of Winterfell decides it’s best to send his daughter far away from the impending doom he sees on the horizon and into the capable hands of Luwin’s brother, a court physician named Gaius.
