Summary
Despite Alexei's harsh treatment of him, Lean fulfills his contractual obligation to Carlos Romanoff, birthing him a beautiful granddaughter. Although Alexei feels so certain that Lean would want something to do with their child, or at least stay to breastfeed while she's still an infant, Lean disappears shortly after the birth, having neither named nor held their shared daughter. Alexei cannot admit to himself or those around him why he's upset by it, but the one thing that he does know, is that Lean Terano is gone, and it's Alexei's fault.
