It's her twenty-first birthday, and Sumireko is going to spend the entire day partying at her new-ish lodging of the Shrine of Stars. As the high-priestess of the Robotic Sages, she is entitled to take the day off and have fun however she sees fit, and not even her gods can stop her from it!
Today, she has invited Rinnosuke to celebrate! Kai, not having anything better to do himself, also joins in on the festivities.
But that is the least of their worries. They know not that a portent of bad news is about to hit their doorstep; or rather in this case, the window. When it inevitably rears its head, and Sumireko realizes it was her ass that got her into this mess (in a more literal way than she'd like), she's faced with quite the conundrum:
How will she deal with both the portent and her own hormones, on top of the unwitting messenger who is also on the chopping block? In an unconventional, compromising position, she may have to turn to a more unconventional, uncompromising goddess... can one really blame her if she ends up swearing after the fact that she didn't mean to have things go as pear-shaped as they inevitably do?

Summary
An apocalypse had come, and it had gone, skewing in directions none could have foreseen, save for those who'd anticipated it. The Outside World is still recovering, and Gensokyo was largely unaffected save for an influx of new, and permanent visitors from both Outside and from the great Beyond. Now that all that is settled with, Reimu Hakurei finds herself in a most unenviable position: following a particular decree from her patron, who stated that the first male priest to arrive in the border was to be her betrothed and the father of her children.
Um, yeah... about that... there's several problems. One of which being that said patron had failed to specify at the time whether or not the beau was to be human, and follow her faith. This one does and is considered neither, following his own faith, and he comes with a twin sister with whom he is psychically linked. And his own pantheon. And the villagers end up with even less faith in the deity once this news comes out. Even with the additional addendum that the betrothed must fight seven contestants for her hand in marriage, the others merely stopping him, rather than wedding Reimu themselves.
"Oops" would be a bit of an understatement here...

She chooses the latter... with something of a more personal flair. Especially since these whackos, upon hearing about her decision, have requested... something more artistic for their Chronicles.

For another, they don't seem to be affiliated with—let alone know of—Yukari Yakumo, instead saying that someone else dragged them into this mess.
Which puts Reimu into a pickle. She has to find out the architect of the connected incidents before Gensokyo is irrevocably changed for the worst. But how will she stop the machinations, when the persons involved in the connected incidents refuse to spill the beans regarding who started the whole thing?
