In a land far northwest of Middle-earth, the Shire settled with the greenest hill in all of Arda. The inlands and uphills are inhabited by small creatures called Hobbits. They are peaceful folks, and the other people of Middle-earth have known them for the peace and bliss they have lived in for hundreds of years.
Hobbits are not fighters. They are healers, crafters, caregivers, gardeners, cooks, and more and are not suited for impromptu frontline combat like the rest of the races of Middle-earth. They are simple creatures with simple desires in life. Change has been long unwelcome in the Shire, for they believe that things don't need to change and things are perfect the way they are and have been for hundreds of years. Shire folks strive to achieve peace. Peace makes things simple.
And yet an ancient whisper travels the wind. A tale foretold that when the fatherlands are in need of a helping hand, the once hidden race will come out of their hills and stand forth finally to assist with their gifts and finish what others had failed to do.
What these gifts are, nobody knows. Not yet at least.
But it is close to knowing. So close indeed.

Another Battle of Five Armies fix-it, because we can never have too many stories where there is more to their story than death and grief. Though in this case, there is still some lingering grief. This timeline will be a mash-up of the book and movies, along with some lore and events from the later trilogy (LOTR), and assorted other Tolkien lore taken from various essays, works, and one very entertaining interview between Richard Armitage (Thorin) and Martin Freeman (Bilbo). When the company comes into the picture, all tensions are high as the beast circles them, before landing on Thorin. After explaining their quest, Bilbo agrees to go on their quest, to guide them and be their burglar. He finds friends in unwanted places and finds himself being drawn towards the Dwarven King. When steaks rise and Azog tracks them down to kill them, he protects them with his life. From traumatic experience to fluff. This company is taken on a roller coaster of life and death and emotions.

WELCOME BACK MY LOVES!!! If you are brand new to the reforged universe, you need to go back and read Reforged. This won’t make sense otherwise.
A few things before you can read on. This will just be an ongoing work broken into ACT’s. Some will be quite substantial others not so much...though so far all the ACTS I have done are over ten chapters...sooooo....ya. Before I post an ACT, I do try and get it mostly done before posting anything…incase I lose momentum and didn’t finish it. Nothing worse than getting sucked into a story and it being left hanging.
ACT one through I think three are complete. I will eventually have some ACT’s which will be short one-shot...but I have not done any of those yet so who knows. Still, I thought this way would be easier than making a bunch of separate stories so you can keep them in chronological order.
Heads up, I do proofread these before posting, but you will need to forgive me if I miss a spelling error or completely spell something in the Tolkien universe way wrong. It will happen. Sorry.

“It’s got such a presence to it, even from a distance,” Bilbo says softly, and there’s a general murmur of awed agreement from the others. “Why, in all my fifty years, I never thought I’d see such a thing, and we haven’t even arrived yet!”
Thorin’s sword hits the ground with a clatter, and Balin chokes on his pipe.
The hobbit doesn’t look at Thorin, too busy thumping Balin on the back. Once the dwarf seems able to breathe again, he looks up, to find thirteen wide pairs of eyes fixed on him.
“What?” he says defensively, though he’s not sure what he’s defending.
“You’re how old?” Kíli squeaks.
Bilbo frowns at the young dwarf. “I’m fifty years old. Well, fifty-one, come springtime. Though it is not very polite to ask someone their age so bluntly,” he tells him primly.
Fíli makes a choked sound, and Nori lets out a vicious string of swears in Khuzdul.
