Summary
Midoriya Izuku was always fascinated by dolls and puppet since he was born. An unusual affinity. He wasn't sure why until his quirk came in and all of the sudden it made sense. Unfortunately his quirk was good, very good and Inko wasn't about to let her son get taken away by her more and more abusive husband, even if it killed her.
And it did, but Izuku escaped and was now all alone in the world with nothing but the power to never leave his hiding spot. Getting more and more isolated and he shuts the world off from him besides the thin window provided by his puppets. Fortunately, there's a whole family who wants to take him in, now if only they could find the actual Izuku.
Quirk: Puppeteer

“You assholes in here talking shit?” Kacchan asked, closing the door and dropping his bag to the floor. He took residency at Izuku’s desk. “And you–” Kacchan pointed a finger at Shinsou, “owe me for siccing that icy hot bastard on me.”
“I am innocent until proven guilty,” Shinsou said, turning his head to look at Kacchan with an impassive look.
Izuku cleared his throat, trying to fight back a grin.
“You literally told Todoroki to go stall me, you asshole,” Kacchan said, chucking a pencil at him.
“Oh. You’re right. I did. It worked for a whole…” he looked down at his imaginary watch. “Five minutes apparently, since you arrived not long after me.”

Like most things, Izuku didn’t particularly want to start his career as a vigilante. In the same way he didn’t want to go to school every day to quirkist teachers, or how he didn’t want to be the victim of bullying and assault daily, oh, and he especially didn’t want his mom to run off and abandon him.
But, there are laws and there are legalities, and in this day and age in Japan, his quirk status leaves more wiggle room than should be allowed.
vigilantism had a similar situation. The laws stating something along the lines of: ‘a person, or persons, who is caught practicing unauthorized quirk usage for heroic acts, disregarding self-defense, will be prosecuted and may be fined up to-‘. Yeah, yeah, blah blah, the important part there is ‘quirk usage’, and fortunately (or unfortunately) that didn’t apply to Izuku.

Or, an author who’s tired of unrealistic fics where a teenage vigilante is trying to keep too many secrets, and decided to write one for themselves.
